Someone said that there's too much vertical length in the brake cable and the resonance moves to the fork. Some have replaced their stock brakes with a linear-pull brake (I think that's what it's called) and this eliminated the problem. FWIW, all is still well on my new fork even as the miles add up.

-Roman
Did you have to modify them? I could/can make them fit but not w/o tweaking them significantly.

The front fork shakes violently unless the front brake is applied very lightly (not good when emergency braking is needed). Changed to an '06 Tricross Comp fork from the original '06 Sport fork. The problem seems to getting worse as the mileage on the fork increases. Ready to buy a fork from a different manufacturer --- or a new bike.

My front fork shakes terribly (on a 2007 Tricross Sport) unless I make the front brake cable very tight. As soon as it gets a bit loose, it starts shaking again. Eric, how did you find out that the '06 S-works fork is supposed to correct it? The LBS where I got the bike are totally uninterested in the problem.

Got the '06 S-works fork installed and the problem is gone! The bike rides and brakes beautifully now! I'm very pleased.

Hhm. I have an S-works fork ('06 version) on the way that is supposed to correct the violent shaking that I have when using the front brake. I hope that does it, as it will be my third fork, including the original.

-Eric
Not that I specifcally remember or have noticed. I'll take it for a spin tonight to see if I notice anything. Dumb question, but is your front brake tightly secured to the fork?
